Marc Rzatkowski has been named to MLS Team of the Week, presented by Audi, for Week 20.
Rzatkowski's first and second career MLS goals helped lead the New York Red Bulls to a 3-2 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
"Marc, he had a great week of training," Head Coach Chris Armas said. "In every session, he brought energy and he always has quality, but he showed a lot of life this week. Going into the game, we thought that he would be a guy we'd rely on in some capacity."
He is the third Red Bulls player to tally a brace in 2018. Rzatkowski became the 12th different Red Bulls player to tally at least one league goal this season, surpassing last year’s total of 11.
"I just wanted to help the team, wanted to improve the whole game from us," Rzatkowski said. "And, it was not only me. I think also Derrick [Etienne, Jr.] and Amir [Murillo] when they came in, we tried to give more spirit to the game and we are all happy that it was all going this way."
