MATCH PREVIEW, pres. by Toyota: New York Heads to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for First Time Since 2018 to Face the Colorado Rapids

The New York Red Bulls (9-4-9, 36 pts.) head to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for the first time since 2018 to face off against the Colorado Rapids (11-8-4, 37 pts.) on Saturday, July 13. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Christian Miles will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing on the English side, while Adrian Garcia Marquez will have the play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Francisco Pinto on the Spanish side. New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 9 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Toyota, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.

This will be the 45th overall regular season meeting between New York and Colorado, with the Rapids leading the overall series with a 20-17-7 mark. This will be the first time New York has traveled to Colorado since 2018, where the Red Bulls earned a 2-1 win. Colorado has won five of their last six MLS matches, which includes four-straight wins. New York are currently on a five-match unbeaten streak, which includes back-to-back results on the road. Midfielder Lewis Morgan, who leads the club with nine goals, has played in one career match against Colorado, where he recorded a goal and an assist.

Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel returned from international duty with Paraguay and started in his first MLS match since June 1. Coronel posted five saves and a shutout in a 0-0 draw against the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park. The Paraguayan international has now recorded back-to-back shutouts in MLS play and has tallied four on the season. Coronel was named to the Matchday 25 Team of the Matchday for his efforts against Philadelphia.
