The New York Red Bulls and FC Cincinnati battled to a 1-1 draw, with Patryk Klimala converting from the spot for RBNY.
Cincinnati got on the board first in the 13th minute when former Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga found the back of the net off of a set piece. This was Miazga's second appearance for Cicinnati.
New York wasn't behind for long, though, as VAR awarded the Red Bulls a penalty after Andrés Reyes was fouled in the box.
The play was originally called as a foul on Reyes, but VAR gave Patryk Klimala the opportunity to convert the spot, which he did to level the score.
This was Klimala's sixth goal of the season across all competitions, and his first since the Open Cup match against Charlotte.
Cincinnati and New York combined for only five total shots on goal.
The Red Bulls will now host Inter Miami at Red Bull Arena on August 27th.
