The New York Red Bulls weathered a long spell with 10 men on the field and found a late own goal to grab three points on the road in New England.
Luquinhas won the ball in the midfield late in the game, springing Ashley Fletcher who took the ball to the endline before crossing it. New England defenders attempted to clear the ball, but it bounced off a teammate and into the back of the net.
Carlos Coronel made five saves on the night, including a point-blank diving stop to keep New England off the board.
RBNY held on to grab all three points on the road.
Frankie Amaya was issued two yellow cards, in a match that saw 36 fouls called -- with 23 committed by RBNY.
Seven yellow cards were issued, two each to Amaya and New England's Adam Buska -- who received cards in the 93' and 94' minutes.
The Red Bulls have won three matches on the road to open their season for the first time in franchise history. It's the first time that's happened in MLS in a decade.
