The New York Red Bulls and Los Angeles FC battled to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night, with New York taking a point home from their long road trip out to the opposite coast.

"The whole game was a great fight," Head Coach Sandro Schwarz said. "I’m very satisfied, I’m proud of this team, of this fight. Unlucky we didn’t get these three points."

New York got the benefit of an own goal from LAFC early in the match, before LAFC tied it up on a penalty call that had to go to VAR.

“The whole team, how they play, how they defend, it’s all together," Schwarz said.

RBNY went ahead with Emil Forsberg's second MLS goal, finishing off a cross from a John Tolkin corner kick, with Dylan Nealis getting an assist.

"We're going to keep improving, keep getting better, keep getting more confident in many areas," Emil Forsberg said. "We're not satisfied, we'll keep working hard."

LAFC were able to equalize late to split the points with New York.

"I'm very satisfied, I'm proud of what I see from the whole team, the whole club, the staff," Schwarz said. "I'm happy with the whole team, the behavior, the mentality."

Frankie Amaya made his 100th MLS start back in his home state.

"One points against LAFC," Forsberg said. "I'm keeping positive."

New York returns back to Red Bull Arena on Saturday, April 27 to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the club’s first-ever College Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

"We're not satisfied, we want to do better," Forsberg said.
