Manoel, who had previously missed a penalty in the 87th minute, one-timed a cross from Julian Hall in the 97th minute to even the score.

"I believe in this team, and we've got four games left, and playoffs are right on the horizon, and we just need to dig deep," Daniel Edelman, who wore the captain's armband for the first time on Saturday night, said. "Some teams and players would collapse in these moments, but we're still fighting, and we're not giving up."

Hall becomes the third-youngest player in MLS history to notch an assist. He's the youngest player in club history to assist a goal.

"I always try to come in and make an impact," Hall said. "It's my number one goal to just try and help the team. Just try and get a victory or the last goal that we need to keep pushing and just trying to make an impact every time I step on."

Hall has now registered a goal contribution in back-to-back home matches.

New York took the lead in the first half after John Tolkin found a recycled ball from a corner and slotted a pass to Dante Vanzeir, who directed it into the back of the net.

Vanzeir tallied his third goal contribution in his last five MLS matches.

Tolkin tallied his first MLS assist of the season and the 12th of his MLS career. The Chatham, N.J. native recorded his 16th assist for the club across all competitions, which ranks tied with Kyle Duncan for the most assists across all competitions by a defender in franchise history. Tolkin tied Jan Gunnar Solli for third place in franchise history for most MLS assists by a defender.

Atlanta converted a penalty in stoppage time of the first half to head into the break all square. Following Elias' penalty miss, Atlanta went ahead off a stunning strike from Edwin Mosquera. Elias equalized minuted later for the final score.

"When I analyze the whole performance, which was, for me, very well," Head Coach Sandro Schwarz said. "To see the mentality that, at the end, we could also score the third goal for three points. ... I'm proud of this mentality, of this behavior, from the whole team today."

New York will be back at Red Bull Arena for a match against rivals New York City FC on Saturday, September 28.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
