The New York Red Bulls lost 2-1 against Inter Miami CF on Wednesday night. They fly to Atlanta this Saturday to play Atlanta United FC.
The Red Bulls took the lead in the 53rd minute thanks to Omir Fernandez’s second goal of the season. Sean Nealis and Jared Stroud got the assist.
Two minutes later Inter Miami CF leveled things up via a MatĂas Pellegrini goal.
The Red Bulls’ first two substitutions were Brian White and Mathias Jørgensen for the two starting forwards Tom Barlow and Samuel Tetteh.
Several minutes later Daniel Royer and Jason Pendant came onto the pitch for Mandela Egbo and Fernandez.
New York’s last substitution saw Marc Rzatkowski step onto the field in place of Dru Yearwood.
Gonzalo HiguaĂn scored his first MLS goal off a free-kick in the 81st minute to give Miami the win.
