HARRISON, N.J. (May 27, 2023) — The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II defender O’Vonte Mullings to a short-term agreement, the club announced today.
The player will be available for the Red Bulls’ MLS regular season match against Seattle Sounders FC tonight at Lumen Field. The contest will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Mullings, 22, is currently in his second season with New York Red Bulls II after being drafted 20th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. The defender has logged over 3,000 minutes in 39 appearances for the team, scoring a goal and tallying five assists over that time. The Florida Gulf Coast product won ASUN Player of the Year in 2021 and was a unanimous ASUN First Team selection in 2019.
The defender has made two appearances across all competitions for the first team this season. Mullings made his first team debut when he came on as a substitute in New York’s 0-0 draw against Toronto FC on Wednesday, May 17.
Following tonight’s match, New York wraps up a two-match road stand, when they head to Fort Lauderdale to face off against Inter Miami CF on Wednesday, May 31.
