HARRISON, N.J. (May 10, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II has finalized a partnership with Montclair State University to upgrade the university’s current Pittser Soccer Complex to serve as the club’s home beginning in 2017, the club announced today.
The remainder of the 2016 USL season will be played at Red Bull Arena.
“We wanted to provide a professional environment for the continuing development of our players and also be involved in a mutually beneficial relationship to continue the growth of soccer in our community,” said Shaun Oliver, General Manager of NYRB II. “Red Bull's investment into upgrading the Pittser Soccer Complex at Montclair State University meets both of those goals and gives our fans a chance to watch and engage with our players of tomorrow."
The Red Bulls will make improvements to Pittser Soccer Complex including, but not limited to, increased seating capacity, press box and streaming capabilities.
“Montclair State is very excited about our campus becoming the future home of the New York Red Bulls II,” said Jack Shannon, Vice President for University Advancement. “The facility improvements will benefit our nationally-ranked men’s and women’s soccer teams as well as the hundreds of young soccer players who use Pittser Field and our other facilities as part of our relationship with the Montclair United Soccer Club.”
In addition to being the home pitch for the Red Bulls II, the Pittser Soccer Complex will be available for the Red Bulls’ Premier Development League (PDL) team and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches. Red Bulls Training Programs will also have the opportunity to host residential camps for youth soccer players at the university.
As a result of playing all remaining 2016 home games at Red Bull Arena, kickoff times of home matches on June 26 (Wilmington Hammerheads FC), July 2 (Rochester Rhinos) and July 23 (Charleston Battery) have been changed.
