New York Red Bulls II Sign Florian Valot

HARRISON, N.J. (June 25, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II has signed midfielder Florian Valot, the club announced today.


Hailing form Monaco, France, Valot was a member of Paris Saint-Germain’s youth academy before joining AS Monaco FC’s reserve team in 2011 where he played for three years. In 2014, Valot came to the United States and spent two years playing college soccer at Rider University.


During his two seasons at Rider, Valot made 34 appearances for the Broncos, totaling 13 goals and six assists. The Frenchman collected the 2014 MAAC Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the All-MAAC First Team both seasons.  


Valot was a member of the Red Bulls II 2016 preseason camp roster in March as a trialist. He appeared in one preseason game with NYRB II on March 11 against Bethlehem Steel FC, playing 25 minutes as a substitute.


The 23-year-old has also appeared in three Premier Development League (PDL) games with the Red Bulls U-23 team this season. On June 15, Valot provided the game-winning assist for Red Bulls U-23 against Ocean City Nor’easters.


Valot is the 14th player signed to a USL contract on the Red Bulls II roster, and the club’s ninth signing of 2016.
