HARRISON, N.J. (March 3, 2022) – New York Red Bulls II have signed goalkeeper Derrek Chan to a USL Championship contract pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.
Chan, 23, appeared in 16 matches, recorded 45 saves, and tallied four shutouts for UC Davis. He started every match he appeared in during his senior season.
“Derrek is a goalkeeper with impressive physical attributes and someone that our goalkeeper staff feel has potential at the professional level,” Red Bulls Academy Director Sean McCafferty said. “He has impressed us during his time here and has shown a great work ethic and willingness to learn which bodes well for the future.”
Chan also spent time with the Orange County SC U-23’s in 2018.
