The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II goalkeeper Austin Causey to a short-term agreement ahead of the clubâs match against Toronto FC tonight.
Causey, 23, is in his first season with NYRB II. He most recently played for Lexington SC in USL League 1. Causey made 10 appearances with the club, where he tallied three shutouts. He made his debut for the club in a U.S. Open Cup matchup against Louisville City FC on April 6, 2023. Prior to Lexington, Causey played for Richmond Kickers in USL League 1 and made one appearance for the club.
The Concord, Massachusetts native began his youth career with Richmond United in Virginia, where he played for the U-14 and U-16 sides. Causey would go on to make a move to New England Revolution Academy in July 2016.
The goalkeeper will be available for the Red Bullsâ MLS regular season match today against Toronto FC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via NewYorkRedBulls.com and the New York Red Bulls app.
