Louro joins Luis Robles and Ryan Meara as the team’s third goalkeeper
HARRISON, N.J. (April 29, 2017) - The New York Red Bulls signed NYRB II goalkeeper Evan Louro to an MLS contract, the club announced today. Louro becomes the eighth Homegrown player and third goalkeeper on the first team roster.
Louro joins seven current Homegrown players on the first team, including five that have seen significant time on the pitch this season. The Red Bull Academy product signed with the organization in February after three seasons of college soccer at the University of Michigan and four starts with NYRB II in his first professional season.
Louro appeared in four of New York Red Bulls II five matches in 2017. The South River, New Jersey, native tallied eight saves, including a clean sheet in his professional debut against the Richmond Kickers on April 1.
The New York Red Bulls wrap up their three-match homestand with a match against the Chicago Fire on Saturday at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., with coverage on MSG, MSG GO and Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
