HARRISON, N.J. (June 21, 2023) — The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II defender Omar Valencia to a short-term agreement, the club announced today.
The players will be available for the Red Bulls’ two MLS regular season matches this week. First against Charlotte FC tonight and then on Saturday, June 24 against Atlanta United FC. Both matches will be held at Red Bull Arena. The contest tonight will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Valencia, 19, has been with the New York Red Bulls II for the last two seasons on loan from C.D. Plaza Amador. The defender has made 10 career appearances for NYRB II, while making eight starts and recording one assist. Valencia made his debut for the Panamanian National Team on June 11, 2022, in a friendly against Uruguay.
Following tonight’s match, New York will welcome Atlanta United FC to Red Bull Arena on Saturday, June 24. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
