After assisting goals from Cameron Harper and Patryk Klimala that helped secure a point at home against Chicago Fire FC on Wednesday night, Omir Fernandez has been named to the MLS Team of the Week.
The two assists on the night make six for the season for Fernandez, which leads the team and is tied for second highest in the league.
That total is double the amount Fernandez had in his career before the 2022 season began.
His 17 total scoring attempts is third most on the team, only trailing Lewis Morgan and Patryk Klimala.
This is his first appearance on the Team of the Week in 2022. He was a notable snub in week 1, where he recorded a goal and an assist in New York's 3-1 win vs. San Jose.
