Combining for three goals and an assist in New York's 5-3 win against D.C. United earned Omir Fernandez and John Tolkin spots in the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 34.
Fernandez started the scoring on Saturday night with a goal in the 17th minute. When D.C. took a 2-1 lead, he stepped up to the spot and leveled the score with a penalty kick goal.
The two goals from Fernandez were his team-leading seventh and eighth of the season across all competitions.
With the game level at 3-3 early in the second half, a cross from Tolkin was headed home by Sean Nealis for what would end up being the match-winning goal. Tolkin would then leave no doubt, scoring in second half stoppage time to make it a 5-3 match.
Tolkin now has two goals and a team-high eight assists across all competitions this season.
This is the fifth time that Tolkin has been featured on the Team of the Matchday and the second time that Fernandez has made the list.
