HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls Academy today announced their newest player, Guilherme Mourao Da Silva.
Da Silva, a forward, joins the U-17 Academy team from Ironbound SC, one of the Red Bulls' Academy Affiliate Clubs, as part of the Pathway To Pros Program.
“Guilherme created an instant positive impact when he came into train for several weeks with our U-17s group last fall season. He is a creative talent with the additional attributes required in the ball recovery phase of the game. We are very excited to support his player development journey," said New York Red Bulls Academy Coach, Jonathan Rhodes.
“We are super proud of Guilherme and wish him the best of luck on this new challenge. Guilherme is a model of perseverance and desire that was cultivated in the Ironbound section of Newark at Lafayette Street School, and currently at East Side High School," said Ironbound SC Head Coach, Anthony Tavares. "Guilherme is a perfect example of why programs like the Pathways to Pros are important in identifying hidden talent in our inner cities.”
