New York Red Bulls U-23 looks to improve to 2-0-0 when they host the Baltimore Bohemians on Wednesday, May 25, at the Red Bulls Training Facility at 7 p.m.
Coming off of a strong performance against Jersey Express, the Red Bulls aim to keep the same momentum heading into Wednesday night. Nicholas Melo scored the game-winning goal for the Red Bulls in the 86th minute, curling a right-footed shot into the side netting. Melo entered as a substitute just 10 minutes prior.
Zach Knudson has earned points in back-to-back games for the Red Bulls U-23s. He converted a penalty kick in New York’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup loss on May 11, and assisted Arun Basuljevic’s goal last weekend.
Basuljevic, a Red Bulls academy product entering his junior year at Georgetown, scored his first goal of the season against Jersey Express in the 22nd minute last weekend.
The Bohemians have played three games so far this season resulting in a 1-1-1 record with three goals scored and four conceded. Their latest result was a 3-0 loss coming on May 22, to the Ocean City Nor’easters.
When these two teams met last season, the Bohemians upset the first place Red Bulls, 2-1, with the winning goal coming in the 80th minute from Shawn Geary.
