The New York Red Bulls Academy U-17’s head to Frisco, Texas, for the 2018 Generation Adidas Cup taking place from March 23 through 31.
In 2017, New York finished third in the Champions division of the tournament, defeating Toronto FC, Club Tijuana (MX) in the group stages before advancing and falling in the semifinals to Club Flemengo (BRA) on penalty kicks. New York defeated Independiente de Valla (EC) in the third-place match, the highest placing of any MLS side.
Current Red Bull Homegrown Ben Mines took home the Golden Boot from last year’s tournament notching six goals.
Placed in Group C of this year’s Premier Division, New York will face Tigres de UANL (MX) first, followed by the San Jose Earthquakes and Chicago Fire in the group stage of the tournament.
The semifinals and final will take place at Toyota Park there in Frisco, Texas.
