HARRISON, N.J. (October 29, 2015) – The New York Red Bulls II have announced today that the club will exercise the options of five players for the 2016 United Soccer League (USL) season.
The players whose options will be picked up include forward Stefano Bonomo, midfielder Devon Williams, midfielder Dan Metzger, defender Konrad Plewa and goalkeeper Rafael Diaz.
The players whose options will not be picked up include midfielder Alex Clay, forward Chris Tsonis, forward Daniel Bedoya, forward Franklin Castellanos, midfielder Victor Manosalvas, midfielder Bolu Akinyode, defender Colin Heffron, defender Michael Da Fonte, and defender James Thomas.
“I’d like to thank all of these players for their hard work and dedication in New York Red Bulls II’s inaugural season,” Sporting Director Ali Curtis said. “On behalf of the club, we wish them all the best in the future.”
New York Red Bulls II completed its inaugural USL season with a 12-10-6 record in fourth place of the Eastern Conference. The team won its first playoff game against Pittsburgh Riverhounds and advanced as far as the Eastern Conference semifinals in the 2015 USL Playoffs.
