How They’re Doing
Charlotte FC has had a rocky start to their second season in MLS, failing to record a point in their first three matches.
In those matches, they conceded seven goals and only managed to register one goal.
This past weekend, however, they recorded their first win of the season in a 2-1 victory at Orlando City
Charlotte made their stadium a fortress last season, recording 10 wins in 2022, but their form away from home doomed them, only taking 11 points from away matches all season.
Head-to-head history
This will be the third regular season matchup between the Red Bulls and one of the league’s newest expansion teams.
Their first league meeting came at Bank of America on June 11, where Charlotte ran out 2-0 winners behind goals from Ben Bender and Derrick Jones.
The Red Bulls were held to one total shot on goal.
New York has gotten the better of Charlotte at home, defeating them 3-1 in the U.S Open Cup and 2-0 in the league matchup at Red Bull Arena.
Player to Watch- Forward Enzo Copetti
Charlotte’s biggest signing in club history has started his career on the right foot, scoring two goals in his first four appearances for his new club.
Copetti tallied 31 goals and eight assists during his time with Racing Club in Argentina before making the move to MLS.
Against a New York defense that has only allowed six shots on target through four matches, Copetti will lead a Charlotte attack looking to break through and record their first win at home this season.
