Leo Stolz Hits Orlando
After sorting through the visa process in Germany, first round draft pick Leo Stolz rolled into breakfast Thursday morning speaking Ze Deutsche with Red Bull ‘keeper Luis Robles who picked it up during his time with Kaiserslautern and Karlschruer.
NewYorkRedBulls.com caught up with Leo following his first full training session with the team, video above.
Armando Absence
While Stolz arrives, one player not with the team in Orlando is Spanish center back Armando. With the recent signings of Ronald Zubar, Andrew Jean-Baptiste to go along with the re-signing of Damien Perrinelle and Homegrown product Matt Miazga, the team currently has four other center backs under contract.
Though unsigned, defender Ibrahim Sekagya is also in camp with the team.
Regarding Armando’s absence from camp, the club issued this statement Thursday:
“Armando Lozano did not travel with the New York Red Bulls to training camp in Orlando. He is currently under contract with MLS and on New York’s roster. The Red Bulls, the player, and his agent are in talks to decide what is best for all parties involved.”
Afternoon Off
After tough training two-a-day sessions the past few days, Jesse Marsch and his staff gave the team the afternoon off to allow for some additional recovery time for heavy legs.
With Thursday being shorts weather in Orlando, many of the guys took to the hotel pool (and maybe even did a lap in the lazy river) to blow off some steam.
For the third day in a row, Dax gives us his insight:
