A well-established yearly tradition at the nationally acclaimed United Soccer Coaches Convention, the New York Red Bulls left another significant footprint during the 2025 edition that took place in Chicago between the days of January 8-12. In the span of four days, several members of the RBNY Youth Programs (RBYP) team exemplified why Red Bull is the leading reference of soccer in North America.

On Wednesday night, Jack Bradshaw opened the Convention by leading an on-field session in front of a full house with 1,000 professional coaches watching in attendance. Bradshaw’s presentation Developing the Individual Player was inspired by his role as a Coach Development Manager in RBYP. The objective was to illustrate what the supplemental Regional Development School program looks like and why it is important to emphasize the teaching of technique with young players.

“It’s great to showcase our approach to the wider soccer community. The session was well attended with some really good audience engagement,” stated Bradshaw, who supports RBYP coaches throughout New Jersey.

Juan Figueira, also a Coach Development Manager at RBYP, assisted Bradshaw during the field session and provided live contextual information to the audience as the coaching session was in progress.

On Thursday morning, Senior Manager of Coach Development Max DuBane and Coach Recruitment Manager Brett Robison, continued the momentum from the previous night by delivering an outstanding presentation titled Developing the Next Generation of Coaches.

Robison, who joined the RBYP in 2020, illustrated the process and diligence required to recruit coaches that will make an impact in the tri-state area.

“Presenting at the United Soccer Coaches Convention is an exciting opportunity to highlight our Youth Programs recruitment and coach development initiatives. The strong attendance and interest emphasized the impact and appeal of these programs within the soccer community.” she reflected.

During the same hour, DuBane extensively portrayed the in-house initiatives that the Coach Education & Development team utilize to ensure growth, support and success of its coaching staff. These initiatives impact the Youth Programs and the Academy, and it’s an essential behind-the-scenes enterprise that ensures that the New York Red Bulls produce the most expansive Youth Soccer structure in the country.

To cap off a robust presence at the Convention, Senior Manager of Youth Programs Steve Jones contributed with a presentation as part of a series called Leading Football Clubs and Organizations. A seasoned lecturer at the United Soccer Coaches Convention, Jones highlighted key components that construct the operational success of the RBYP.

RBYP was founded in 2005 and has become a fundamental pillar in the organization. With youth camps, club affiliates, select programs, and clinics, the program staffs 180+ coaches each year to inspire the soccer community in the tri-state area and develop young players that could one day join the club’s Pre-Academy and Academy. With its extensive territorial reach and proven success, it has become the largest youth structure in Major League Soccer.

The same way the club has created a pipeline for players the likes of Tyler Adams and Daniel Edelman, its unique structure has organically created a parallel pipeline for promising coaches. Many, who started their coaching career in the Youth Programs, progressed through the organization’s ranks and currently coach in the Academy and professional teams.
