With Leg 2 approaching, the New York Red Bulls will look to keep their Champions League title hopes alive, as they head to Mexico needing a two-goal margin of victory to advance outright against Santos Laguna.
Captain Luis Robles knows the job won’t be easy, especially playing in their building, but has belief that this team can overcome any obstacle.
“It’s a tough task, but it’s not anything that I don’t think this team is capable of overcoming,” Robles said.
Robles knows the team understands the preparation that will be necessary leading up to the match in order to come away with the result they seek.
“I know we’re going to look at the video and see how we can improve and that’s sort of the name of the game,” Robles said. “We know when we go down to Mexico, we’re going to need that preparation to make sure that we feel confident. Guys understand their role, they understand what’s required of them and they execute. When that happens, this team is successful.”
With the attention to detail the team places leading up to every match, there is no lack of confidence from the Captain.
“I feel very confident in this group that no matter the team, no matter the destination, wherever we’re at, we’re able to do some big things,” Robles said.
Leg 2 will kick off from Estadio Corona at 9 PM ET on Univision Deportes, YahooSports.com and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
