MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: New York Closes Regular Season with Win over Toronto

The New York Red Bulls closed the regular season with a 2-1 win over Toronto FC on Sunday night. 


In a span of three minutes, the Red Bulls took a 2-0 lead. 


Tom Barlow scored his third goal of the season to give RBNY an early 1-0 lead. Minutes later, Brian White continued his goalscoring streak, striking his fourth goal in his last five matches. 


In the 50th minute, Tsubasa Endoh got one back for Toronto FC to put things 2-1.


Interim Head Coach Bradley Carnell’s first substitutions were Danny Royer and Cristian Cásseres Jr. taking Jared Stroud and Brian White’s spots on the field. Mandela Egbo and Amro Tarek came onto the field for Tom Barlow and Dru Yearwood in the 77th minute. 


By the 80th minute, New York had taken six shots on target.


The Red Bulls last substitution saw Caden Clark take the field for Florian Valot.
