HARRISON, N.J. (October 19, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (5-17-7, 22 points) will host Loudoun United FC (4-21-3, 15 points) on Wednesday, October 20, marking the final home match of the 2021 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
New York will look to continue to build off a stretch in which it has recorded a point or more in four of its last five contests. In its latest match, the club earned a road point with a 1-1 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Friday, October 15. Forward Luther Archimede scored his second goal of the season off a feed from forward Omar Sowe, and goalkeeper AJ Marcucci matched his season-high with seven saves.
Marcucci has started New York’s last six matches, recording six or more saves in four of those contests.
Wednesday’s meeting will be the third of the season between the two sides, with New York leading the season series 1-0-1. The clubs played to a 3-3 draw in their most recent meeting on September 30. Sowe scored his team-leading seventh goal, and Archimede record his first professional goal and assist in the contest.
Loudoun goalkeeper Jermaine Fordah ranks third in the USL Championship with 93 saves. He has started 22 of Loudoun’s 28 matches.
New York currently sits in seventh place of the Atlantic Division, while Loudoun ranks eighth. They were defeated by Hartford Athletic in their most recent match, 1-0, on Saturday, October 16.
