MONTCLAIR, N.J. (March 19, 2024) – New York Red Bulls II are home at MSU Soccer Park for the first time this year for their round one matchup in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET with broadcasts available on USSoccer.com and Red Bulls Radio via Tunein, NewYorkRedBulls.com, and the New York Red Bulls App.
Coming off their first match this season in MLS NEXT Pro just two days ago, New York Red Bulls II are entering tomorrow’s match with high hopes. The squad had an excellent performance in Columbus, posting a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory with goals scored by Wiki Carmona and Roald Mitchell. Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule assisted both goals as the club started their season on a positive note.
With the USL League 2 season yet to begin, Hudson Valley will be playing in their first official match action of the year. The Hammers finished second in the Metropolitan Division in 2023, posting a 10-3-1 record with 31 points to earn a playoff spot.
This will be the first time that New York Red Bulls II have competed in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup since 2015 when they matched up against Jersey Express Soccer Club in the second round.
Hudson Valley will be playing in their first ever Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match since being established in part by former New York Red Bulls product and United States Men’s National Team Captain Tyler Adams in 2020. Adams competed and played a full 90 minutes in the 2015 Open Cup match against Jersey Express for New York Red Bulls II.
