Red Bulls Loan Three To Red Bulls II for USL Game

HARRISON, N.J. (April 5, 2017) - The New York Red Bulls have loaned Ryan Meara, Alex Muyl, and Michael Amir Murillo to New York Red Bulls II, the organization's USL affiliate, ahead of NYRB II's match against Harrisburg on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena.

Per the Right of Recall incorporated into the loan agreements of Meara, Muyl, and Murillo, the New York Red Bulls (MLS) retain the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.

Meara, a Crestwood, N.Y. native, was selected No. 31 overall in the Second Round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls and signed on February 6, 2012. Re-signed with New York Red Bulls on December 12, 2016. Meara has made 42 career appearances for New York across all competitions, including 39 starts.


Muyl signed with New York on December 22, 2015 as a Homegrown player. He made his MLS debut as a substitute on April 9, 2016 against Sporting Kansas City. Muyl has made four appearances for New York this season, including two starts.

Murillo, 21, is a native of Panama City. He was acquired on a year-long loan from San Francisco FC of Panama’s Liga Panameña de Fútbol. He graduated from San Francisco’s youth academy to the first team in 2014. He has made 42 first team appearances and added three goals. Murillo also has nine appearances and one goal for the Panama National Team. He made his senior team debut in March of 2016 in a friendly against Nicaragua. He also represented Panama in the 2017 Copa Centroamericana in January, when Panama made the tournament’s final.
