Academy Match Recap: 11/7 & 11/8

New York Red Bulls Academy teams had a 7-1-1 record on the weekend with a total of 37 goals scored and 14 goals allowed.


Red Bulls U-19’s battled Philadelphia Union II on Saturday and suffered a 7-2 defeat. Bento Estrela scored his first goal of the season in the match.  


Red Bulls U-15’s defeated Ukrainian Nationals U-17’s, 2-1. Kyle Evans scored the first goal of the match in the first half, while Lenny Aviles recorded the game-winning goal late in the second half. Aviles now has scored 12 goals this fall season, while Evans tallied his second of the season. The U-15’s own a 7-1-1 record this season and are currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak.


Red Bulls U-14’s had two matches on the weekend against Cedar Stars Monmouth and Real NJ. On Saturday, they defeated CSA, 6-1. Zidane Yanez recorded a brace, while Brady Boulanger, Nelson Fuentes, and Jaylen Lester each added a goal apiece. On Sunday, they defeated Real NJ, 3-1. Austin Mobary equalized the match late in the first half. Fuentes and Boulanger scored the final two goals of the match. The U-14’s are now unbeaten in their last four matches.


Red Bulls U-13’s defeated Cedar Stars Monmouth, 10-0, on Saturday. Gil de Souza and Jack Mize each recorded a hat trick in the match. Adri Mehmeti, Nicholas Carrascosa, Finn Moran, and Aiden Costner each added a goal as well. On Sunday, they defeated Real NJ, 5-0. CJ Dike opened up the scoring for the U-13’s, while Mize and de Souza each scored a brace. Mize has scored 16 goals this season, while de Souza has eight.


Red Bulls U-12 Red defeated Philadelphia Union U-12, 8-2. Deven Cadigan, Michael Leandrou, and Vinny Firetto each scored a brace, while Hudson Sherwood and Liam Sherwood recorded a goal apiece. Red Bulls U-12 Grey tied Philadelphia Union U-11, 2-2. Isaac Rakovsky scored a brace in the match.
