Cristian Cásseres Jr. once again appears among MLS 22 Under 22, pres. by BODYARMOR. After making his senior debut with Venezuela in World Cup Qualifying play last week, the New York Red Bulls midfielder is happy to once again receive this recognition.
“It feels really good because with [this recognition] I realize that I’m working well, that with work, dedication, things pay off,” said Cásseres Jr. “To be among the best 22 Under-22 players is very difficult, and more here in MLS where we have a lot of great footballers, especially youngsters. Thanks to my work, performances, today I’m among the best 22 Under-22. Now it’s time to continue working, and always be among the best.”

So far this season, Cásseres Jr. has scored one goal and grabbed two assists in 1,142 minutes played.
He finished the 2019 season with 1,801 minutes played, scoring three goals and grabbing four assists.
“It was a dream come true [his senior national team debut]. It’s something I always dreamt, something I always wanted since I was a little kid. It’s a footballer’s dream to play and debut for their country. I feel very happy and proud for this achievement, of debuting and then playing a whole game for my national team at a very young age.”
Cásseres Jr. came onto the field in the 78th minute against Colombia, and went on to play 89 minutes against Paraguay. After his time with La Vinotinto, Cásseres Jr. is ready to close out the season with the Red Bulls.
“I want to continue working like I have been, giving my all game after game, training session after training session, so I can grow as a player and also fulfill a dream of mine since I got here to this club, which is to win a title, to be a champion,” he concluded.
