After scoring a goal and assisting the eventual game-winner from Wiki Carmona, Frankie Amaya was selected to be featured on the MLS Team of the Match Day for Matchday 24.
His goal against New England on Saturday gave New York a 1-0 lead in the second half.
"Yeah, I think I was just in the right spot. Dante (Vanezir) played in an amazing ball, you know and I just gave it my all try to jump as high as I can and place it in a good spot and luckily I ended up scoring," Amaya said.
The Revolution tied it in the 76th minute through Brandon Bye. Amaya was not done contributing, as he provided an assist to Wiki Carmona's goal in the 85th minute that would end up being the eventual game-winner.
Since being traded from FC Cincinnati before the 2021 MLS season, Amaya has made 65 appearances for the Red Bulls, contributing five goals and four assists while helping lock down the defensive midfield.
Amaya is on a great run of form for the Red Bulls, contributing to five goals in the last three matches. He has made two appearances on the MLS Team of the Matchday roster in the last three weeks.
