INSIDE THE 18: Emil Forsberg Starts as Red Bulls Take on Toronto

Emil Forsberg returns to the starting lineup, wearing the captain’s armband, as the New York Red Bulls take on Toronto FC.

This will be the 42nd overall regular season meeting between New York and Toronto, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with an 22-9-10 mark.

Lewis Morgan and Dante Vanzeir push the attack, with Ronald Donkor, Daniel Edelman and Peter Stroud in the midfield.

Morgan has scored four career MLS goals against Toronto FC. The last time that Morgan played a match at BMO Field, he scored his first career MLS hat-trick on March 5, 2022. The Scottish international has recorded 12 goals this season, which ranks second in franchise history for most goals in a single season by a midfielder.

Carlos Coronel starts in goal, with Dylan Nealis, Noah Eile, Andrés Reyes and John Tolkin along the backline.

New York are on a 11-match unbeaten streak across all competitions against Toronto FC, including being unbeaten in their last four road MLS matches against Toronto.

Off the bench for New York, Felipe Carballo, Dennis Gjengaar, Julian Hall, Cameron Harper, Elias Manoel, Ryan Meara, Sean Nealis, Serge Ngoma and Aidan O’Connor are available.

Wiki Carmona, Kyle Duncan and Roald Mitchell remain sidelined.
