The 2022 MLS season is here and the New York Red Bulls are set to kick off against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday evening.
Offseason additions Lewis Morgan and Dylan Nealis will both make their RBNY debuts for Gerhard Struber's side.
Patryk Klimala stars up top for New York, with Omir Fernandez and Cristian Cásseres Jr. in the midfield.
Dru Yearwood and Frankie Amaya anchor the defensive midfield, while John Tolkin and Lewis Morgan push forward on the wings.
The Red Bulls are 10-10-6 all-time in season openers and 3-7-5 when opening the season away. New York are unbeaten in their last three season openers away.
Captain Aaron Long starts, returning from an Achilles tendon tear in 2021. Sean Nealis also starts, alongside his brother Dylan.
Carlos Coronel is in goal for New York.
Coronel is coming off a season in which he tallied 13 clean sheets, tied for most in MLS in 2021.
Off the bench, New York will have Tom Barlow, Caden Clark, Daniel Edelman, AJ Marcucci, Lucas Monzón, Ryan Meara, Serge Ngoma and Zach Ryan on the bench.
Edelman, Ngoma and Ryan all see the MLS gameday roster for the first time after signing Homegrown contracts this offseason.
Luquinhas and Tom Edwards are still awaiting their visas and are not with the club.
