The New York Red Bulls will take the pitch on Wednesday night, looking to stay unbeaten at Red Bull Arena in 2024.
Carlos Coronel will start in goal for New York, with Dylan Nealis, Sean Nealis, Noah Eile and Kyle Duncan along the backline. Sean will wear the captain’s armband.
New York have posted an 11-2-0 record against Montreal at home and are currently on a 13-match home unbeaten streak across all competitions, which ranks tied for the second longest in franchise history.
Dante Vanzeir and Lewis Morgan will push the attack for New York. The two synced up for a goal vs. Colorado, with Vanzeir on the assist and Morgan scoring his 10th of the season.
Morgan ranks tied for fifth in MLS goals scored by a midfielder this season. Morgan now ranks ninth in franchise history for most MLS goals scored by a Red Bulls player with 24.
Ronald Donkor and Daniel Edelman will start in the central midfield. Cameron Harper and Wiki Carmona get the nod in the attacking midfield.
Off the bench, Head Coach Sandro Schwarz will have Cory Burke, Bento Estrela, Dennis Gjengaar, Julian Hall, Elias Manoel, Aidan O’Connor, Andrés Reyes and Omar Valencia. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.
The Red Bulls defeated CF Montreal at Red Bull Arena last season, 2-1, with goals from Burke and Reyes.
Emil Forsberg, Roald Mitchell, Serge Ngoma, Peter Stroud are sidelined with injuries. John Tolkin is away from the team, representing the United States at the Olympics.
