The New York Red Bulls look to stop the Philadelphia Union in Chester on Sunday evening on MLS Season Pass and FS1.
New York will start Elias Manoel and Tom Barlow up top, with Luquinhas and Omir Fernandez pushing the attack forward.
Fernandez leads the club this season with five goals across all competitions and he has tallied four assists. Fernandez tallied the assist on New York’s goal in their 1-1 draw against Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park in 2023 Leagues Cup Round of 16 this season.
Frankie Amaya and Daniel Edelman lock down the central midfield.
This will be the 35th overall regular season meeting between New York and Philadelphia, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 14-12-8 mark.
John Tolkin, Sean Nealis, Andrés Reyes and Cameron Harper start along the backline, with Carlos Coronel in goal.
The Red Bulls defense has only surrendered 71 shots on goal in 25 matches which is the lowest in MLS this season. Before their last match, the Red Bulls had 12 consecutive matches, where they held their opponent to under 10 shot attempts. No team in MLS had a longer streak than nine since Opta began detailed data in 2010.
Head Coach Troy Lesesne will have Jorge Cabezas Hurtado, Dru Yearwood, Wiki Carmona, Peter Stroud, Dylan Nealis, Kyle Duncan and Hassan Ndam available off the bench. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.
Dante Vanzeir and Cory Burke continue to work back from injury, while Lewis Morgan, Steven Sserwadda and Serge Ngoma remain sidelined.Â
