The New York Red Bulls begin their MLS campaign vs. Orlando City SC on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 PM ET. The match will stream free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Head Coach Gerhard Struber will deploy his Starting XI, with Sean Nealis captaining the side for the first time in 2023. Nealis will start alongside Andrés Reyes, with John Tolkin and Cameron Harper at wingback.
New York have posted a 5-1-0 mark in their last six openers, including being unbeaten in their last three road season openers (2-0-1). Last season, New York recorded their best road record in franchise history with a 9-5-3 mark. The Red Bulls recorded franchise highs in road wins (9) and points gained on the road (30).
Carlos Coronel starts in goal for RBNY.
Cristian Cásseres Jr. and Frankie Amaya lock down the central midfield, while Luquinhas and Lewis Morgan push the attack forward.
Morgan signed a new three-year contract through 2025. Morgan led the club in goals scored last season with 14 in the regular season and 18 across all competitions. The 14 MLS regular season goals ranked third amongst active MLS midfielders last season.
Elias Manoel and Tom Barlow start up top for New York.
A few players will feature on an MLS matchday roster for the first time, with Jayden Reid, Matt Nocita and Peter Stroud all debuting. Corey Burke, making his first Red Bulls bench, is joined by Dylan Nealis, Omir Fernandez, Steven Sserwadda and Daniel Edelman. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.
Kyle Duncan, Serge Ngoma and Dru Yearwood are sidelined with injuries. Dante Vanzeir continues to work back to full match fitness.
