The New York Red Bulls are set to take on Sporting Kansas City on Sunday evening, with Tom Barlow starting at forward for RBNY.
Barlow will be supported behind by Lewis Morgan, Luquinhas and Omir Fernandez.
The Red Bulls are 5-3-1 on the road this season in MLS and have scored 14 goals in those matches, which ranks tied for the second highest this season. Since 2014, New York has won 44 matches on the road, which is the second most in MLS during that timespan.
Frankie Amaya and Cristian Cásseres Jr. anchor the defensive midfield.
John Tolkin, Aaron Long, Sean Nealis and Dylan Nealis will work along the backline, ahead of Carlos Coronel in goal.
Head Coach Gerhard Struber will have Juan Castillo, Dru Yearwood, Steven Sserwadda, Patryk Klimala, Cameron Harper and Serge Ngoma available off the bench. Ryan Meara will serve as backup goalkeeper.
Ngoma scored the game-winning goal in New York’s 2-1 win against Atlanta United on Thursday. Ngoma scored his first MLS goal and became the third youngest player in franchise history to score a goal at 16 years and 357 days old. The North Plainfield, N.J. native is the third youngest player in league history to score a game-winner in the 85th minute or later, behind only Freddie Adu and Eddie Gaven.
Tom Edwards is sidelined with an injury. Caden Clark and Daniel Edelman remain away from the club on international duty.
