HARRISON, N.J. (August 31, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (3-12-4, 13 points) travels to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (12-6-4, 40 points) on Wednesday, September 1 at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff between New York and Pittsburgh is set for 6:00 p.m. ET. Coverage is available on ESPN+.Â
The match will mark the final meeting of the season between the two clubs, with Pittsburgh taking the three prior matches. The most recent clash came on Friday, July 23 at MSU Soccer Park, with Pittsburgh winning 3-1. Forward Omar Sowe scored one of his team-leading six goals in the contest.
New York will look to bounce back after falling to Miami FC, 3-0, on Sunday, August 29. Goalkeeper Luca Lewis recorded four saves in the contest, and midfielder Michael Knapp made his return from injury to appear in his first match since July 7.
New York currently sits in seventh place of the Atlantic Division, while Pittsburgh ranks second. They defeated Hartford Athletic, 3-2, on Saturday, August 28.
Following Wednesday’s match, New York will return home to face Hartford Athletic on Saturday, September 4 as part of the club’s annual Futures Night. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
