HARRISON, N.J. (March 17, 2025) – New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel has been selected to Paraguay National Team roster for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Coronel, 27, is in his sixth season with the Red Bulls, where he has made 132 MLS appearances and has recorded 36 shutouts, which ranks second in franchise history. Coronel has made four appearances this season for New York and has recorded two shutouts. Coronel recently made his 150th career appearance for the club and became the second goalkeeper in franchise history to reach the milestone.
The goalkeeper has made nine career appearances for the Paraguay National Team. Coronel has posted five shutouts for Paraguay, including in his debut against Peru on September 7, 2023.
Coronel and Paraguay will partake in two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches during this March window. First, they will take on Chile on Thursday, March 20 at Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Paraguay, kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Then, they will travel to Estadio Metropolitano to take on Colombia on Tuesday, March 25, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.
