Chicago, IL (April 8, 2015) - U.S. Soccer announced today the pairings for the play-in, first and second round matches of the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The play-in round opens April 25th with the first round being played on May 13th. Division III USL (United Soccer League) sides enter the tournament in the second round as they will take on the first round survivors on May 20th.
New York Red Bulls II will begin Open Cup play on May 20th and will face off against either Jersey Express of the Premier Development League (PDL) or the New York Greek American Atlas of the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
A Jersey Express first round win means NYRB II will travel to New Jersey Institute of Technology Soccer Stadium in Newark at 8 p.m. ET on May 20th, while an Atlas victory results in Red Bulls II hosting the match on the same day at Red Bull Arena in Harrison at 7:30 p.m. ET.
A NYRB II victory would result in the squad advancing to the third round on May 27th when North American Soccer League (NASL) sides enter the fray.
Major League Soccer teams begin 2015 Open Cup play in the fourth round which takes place on June 16th and 17th.
