RBNY Academy Update | October 28th - U-14s earn big win over rivals Philadelphia Union

The Red Bull U-14s headlined another strong weekend for the academy teams. With the U-18s and U-16s given the weekend off for college visits, the U-14s earned a big road win over the Philadelphia Union academy team at the YSC Sports facility in Wayne, PA. The U-13s also remained unbeaten with a 5-0 win over FC Westchester Everton, and the U-12 Blue and White teams went 1-1 in a pair of road games.

The U-14 Red Bulls remained unbeaten after defeating rival Philadelphia Union academy U-14s, 4-2. The Red Bulls came out strong, creating several scoring chances early on. Jack Valderrabano broke through for his team-leading ninth goal in the ninth minute of play. The Red Bulls didn't waste much time in doubling their lead when Valentino Ambrosio finished off a cross from midfielder Ben Mines to send the team to the locker room with a 2-0 lead.


The Union came out strong in the second half, and tied the game with two goals in a five-minute span. The Red Bulls collected themselves and regained control of the game after Mines headed in a corner kick in the 76th minute. Ambrosio sealed the win with his second of the game in the 80th minute.

The U-13 Red Bulls defeated FC Westchester Everton, 5-0, over the weekend at the Red Bulls training facility in Hanover. Substitute Kejeil Watt scored four goals, and Filip Mirvovic added a fifth in the final minute of play. The Red Bulls will attempt to extend their seven-game unbeaten streak next weekend when they host PA Classics


  • Red Bull U-12s


The U-12 Red Bulls went 1-1 on the weekend with both the Blue and White teams on the road. The U-12 Blue squad took on New York Soccer Club on Saturday in Tarrytown, NY, and came away with a 3-1 win. Anthony Bileddo opened by finishing a pass from Esteban Molina nine minutes into the game. Molina scored two goals of his own in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and put the game to rest.


The U-12 White team headed south on Sunday to take on Match Fit Academy in Lincroft, NJ. Seven minutes in, Matty Acosta lobbed the keeper from twenty-five yards out for the first goal. Ten minutes later Justin Weiss finished his first of two goals, tucking the ball inside the far post to put the Red Bulls up 3-0 going into the half. Despite the early success, Match Fit was able to steal the game with four second half goals.
