HARRISON, NJ (July 7, 2023) – For the second consecutive season, the New York Red Bulls have partnered with Hackensack Meridian Health to recognize the true superheroes - pediatric cancer patients from Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, located at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center - at Marvel Night on Saturday, July 8 at Red Bull Arena.

“Our patients, doctors, nurses, and team members are the true superheroes, fighting villains like pediatric cancer every day,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “We are happy to partner with the Red Bulls in raising money for Tackle Kids Cancer, which supports patients and their families and funds research into fighting pediatric cancer.”

“A highlight of our season is having the opportunity to honor pediatric cancer patients and their siblings with our incredible, longtime partner Hackensack Meridian Health,” said Marc de Grandpré, General Manager, New York Red Bulls. “These children are the true heroes and our entire organization looks forward to hosting them, with their families, for a memorable night at Red Bull Arena.”

In the weeks leading up to Saturday's Red Bulls matchup with the New England Revolution scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kick off, pediatric cancer patients and their siblings were paired with RBNY players to design one-of-a-kind cleats. For the third year, Red Bull players will wear these cleats during warmups on Saturday night.

There will be custom-designed Marvel superhero numbers on the jerseys worn on Marvel Night, which will be auctioned off post-match with proceeds going to Tackle Kids Cancer, a philanthropic initiative of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation to raise crucial funds to benefit Hackensack Meridia Children’s Health Children’s Cancer Institute.
