HARRISON, NJ (February 17, 2015) – The New York Red Bulls announced today that the club has waived midfielder Ian Christianson.
"We thank Ian for his service to the Red Bulls over the last two seasons," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Ali Curtis. "We wish him all the best as he moves forward with his career."
Christianson was drafted by the Red Bulls in the second round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. He appeared in several MLS reserve league games for the Red Bulls in 2013. After missing the start of 2014 due to a foot injury, Christianson was loaned to then-USL side Orlando City SC for the rest of the USL season. He made his New York Red Bulls debut in September against Montreal in the CONCACAF Champions League. He made his only league appearance days later as a second half sub in a win over Seattle.
