RED BULLS SET FOR BUSY WEEK WITH CCL MATCH TUESDAY, TRIP TO D.C. ON SUNDAY
Following an impressive 4-2 win over Montreal at Red Bull Arena last Saturday, the New York Red Bulls must turn the page quickly with a two-game week on tap. The Red Bulls open play in the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday at Red Bull Arena before heading to RFK Stadium in D.C. on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the Red Bulls will face C.D. FAS in the club’s opening game of the CCL group stage (TV: Fox Sports 2, Univision Deportes). Drawn into Group 3 with FAS and the Montreal Impact, New York will face each club twice with the eight group winners advancing to the knockout stage in 2015. Following Tuesday’s CCL match, New York will head to the Nation’s capital to take on the Eastern Conference-leading D.C. United at RFK Stadium in the second of three meetings between the two clubs this season. D.C. earned a 1-0 win the two teams first met at RFK Stadium on April 12.

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS BREAKS SINGLE-SEASON CLUB SCORING RECORD
Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two goals against Montreal on August 23 at Red Bull Arena in a 4-2 win, including the eventual game winner. Wright-Phillips’ 19th and 20th goals of the season moved him past Juan Pablo Angel on New York’s single-season club scoring chart and made him the first player in franchise history to record a 20-goal season.

The Englishman, who currently leads the MLS Golden Boot race, now has 10 regular-season games remaining to break the MLS single-season record of 27 goals set by Roy Lassiter in 1996 and Chris Wondolowski in 2012.
THIERRY HENRY TEARS UP MONTREAL AGAIN
Thierry Henry scored two goals and recorded one assist against Montreal in the team’s 4-2 win on August 23. Henry leveled the score in the 53rd minute with a diving header before putting New York ahead in the 67th minute with a curling, right-footed shot off the far post.
In five career appearances against the Impact, the captain has scored nine goals and recorded four assists. New York is now 4-0-0 in games at Red Bull Arena against Montreal since the Impact joined MLS in 2012.
Henry is currently tied for Robbie Keane for the MLS lead in assists with 11. Henry and Keane are the only two players to eclipse the double-digit mark in assists this season. The captain extended his all-time club lead in assists as well with his 39th career assist and is now just two goals away from 50 career MLS goals.
SAER SENE MAKES RED BULLS’ DEBUT
After joining the Red Bulls on August 12 via trade with the New England Revolution, Saer Sene made his New York Red Bulls debut against Montreal at Red Bull Arena on August 23. Sene replaced Thierry Henry in the 83rd minute. Although he wasn’t credited with an assist, Sene found Peguy Luyindula in the 91+ minute in the lead-up to Bradley Wright-Phillips’ second goal of the game.
Sene, who has spent his first three seasons in MLS with New England, has scored 17 career goals while adding eight assists. In 2012, his first season with the club, Sene led the team in scoring with 11 goals to go along with three assists. Before joining MLS, Sene spent eight seasons between France and Germany playing for Paris Saint Germain B, FC Etampes, SG Schorndorf, SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach and Bayern Munich II.

Through Week 24 of the 2014 MLS season, the Red Bulls are tied for third in the league in scoring and second in the league in assists. Along with being towards the top of charts as a team the Red Bulls have two individuals leading the way. Bradley Wright-Phillips leads the league in scoring with 20 goals while Thierry Henry is tied for first (Robbie Keane, LA) in assists with 11.

ROBLES TIED FOR LEAGUE LEAD IN SAVES
Luis Robles made a key save in the 71st minute against Montreal on August 23 with his team leading 2-1. After Marco Di Vaio slipped in and behind the back line, Robles came out and cut down the forward’s angle and made a strong right-handed save to maintain the lead. Robles’ three total saves helped keep him at the top of the league chart in saves this season.
