HARRISON, N.J. (March 13, 2019) – The New York Red Bulls will commemorate the 2018 Supporters’ Shield in a special ceremony with Supporters at halftime of Saturday’s home opener against the San Jose Earthquakes at Red Bull Arena.

Sporting Director Denis Hamlett will salute the South Ward in a ceremony to unveil new permanent signage in the arena for the Red Bulls’ Supporters’ Shields in 2013, 2015, and 2018.
The Supporters’ Shield will be on the BULLevard outside of Red Bull Arena for fans to take photos pre-game. Fans in attendance will also receive a limited-edition poster recognizing the three Supporters’ Shield teams.
Alumni from the 2013 and 2015 teams will be on hand to participate in the ceremony as well. Former defender and current NYRB II coach Ibrahim Sekagya will represent the 2013 Supporters’ Shield team, and Long Island-native Mike Grella returns to Red Bull Arena to celebrate the 2015 Supporters’ Shield.
The New York Red Bulls have won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in three of the last six seasons. In 2018, the Shield was won by setting new MLS records for points in a season (71) and wins (22).
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on Univision and Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish. The BULLevard outside of Red Bull Arena will open at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, along with the Red Bull Arena Biergarten.
