HARRISON, N.J. (March 22, 2023) – New York Red Bulls midfielder Steven Sserwadda has been named to Uganda Men’s National Team roster for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches in March.
Sserwadda and Uganda will play two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Tanzania on Friday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 28. Uganda have posted a 1-1-1 mark in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying including a 1-0 win against Senegal on January 18.
Sserwadda has made five caps for the Ugandan National Team, including three starts in 300 minutes played. He made his senior team debut on March 25, 2022, against Tajikstan.
The Kampala, Uganda native made two appearances for the New York Red Bulls in 2022. He made his MLS debut against Atlanta United FC on June 30, 2022, and he made 14 appearances for New York Red Bulls II. Sserwadda scored his first professional goal against New Mexico United on July 31.
