Daniel Edelman has been called in to the Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team in preparation for this summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship, which will serve as qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Edelman, a Homegrown signing from Warren, New Jersey, recently participated in the 2021 Revelations Cup against Brazil, Colombia and Mexico with the U-20 team.
Edelman most recently competed with the U-16 squad in 2019, tallying five appearances. He recently concluded his second professional season with New York Red Bulls II, making 27 starts in 2,396 minutes played. Edelman recorded one assist, while leading the team in interceptions (54), tackles (83), tackles won (54), duels won (174) and passes (1,311).
RB Leipzig's Caden Clark was also called into the U-20 team.
The U-20 team will train from Jan. 24-Feb. 2 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., which is where the Red Bulls are currently conducting preseason camp.
