INSIDE THE 18: Cory Burke, Peter Stroud Start as Red Bulls Look to Get Back to Winning Ways

RB24 _ INSIDE THE 18 _ LEGACY

The New York Red Bulls will deploy Cory Burke and Elias Manoel up top as they take on Sporting KC on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.

This will be the 59th overall regular season meeting between New York and Kansas City with the series tied with a 22-22-14 mark. The Red Bulls have posted a 2-1-2 mark in their last five MLS matches at Red Bull Arena.

In the midfield, Ronald Donkor, Daniel Edelman, Cameron Harper and Peter Stroud make up the midfield for RBNY.

Stroud is back on the pitch following an injury that required surgery earlier in the year. Stroud will go 147 days between the injury and getting back on the pitch.

Across the back line, Dylan Nealis, Sean Nealis, Andrés Reyes and John Tolkin start. Ryan Meara is in goal.

Sean Nealis is making his 150th appearance for the club across all competitions. Nealis is now the 13th player in franchise history to accomplish the feat -- and will also become the fifth defender to make 150 or more appearances for the club. The Massapequa, N.Y. native will become the third New York native to make 150 appearances for the club, alongside John Wolyneic and Carlos Mendes.

Sporting Kansas City are winless in their last three MLS road matches and have posted a 2-9-2 mark on the road this year.

Mohammed Sofo, who signed to the first team on Saturday, is on the bench. Tanner Rosborough, on a short-term deal, is joined by Felipe Carballo, Dennis Gjengaar, Julian Hall, Serge Ngoma, Aidan O’Connor and Dante Vanzeir as options off the bench. Dallas Odle, also on a short-term call up, will be the backup goalkeeper.

Emil Forsberg, Wiki Carmona, Kyle Duncan and Roald Mitchell are sidelined.
