GOLD CUP: Michael Amir Murillo Helps Panama Play to 1-1 Draw vs. USA

Michael Amir Murillo Panama Gold Cup

New York Red Bulls defender and Panamanian International Michael Amir Murillo started and played the full 90 minutes against the United States in a 1-1 draw to open both team's Gold Cup play.

Murillo and his Panamanian team went down 1-0 following a Dom Dwyer goal.

Panama came back 10 minutes later and evened the score on a Miguel Camargo goal.

Murillo took one shot on goal, which was scooped up by USA keeper Brad Guzan.

The defender was stretchered off the field midway through the second half after getting fouled jumping for a header, but quickly returned to the game.

Murillo and Panama next play on Wednesday, July 12, vs. Nicaragua at 7:30 pm ET (FS1, UDN, TSN2 in Canada).

The United States will face off against Martinique on July 12 at 9 pm ET (FS1, UniMás, UDN, TSN2 in Canada).
