The New York Red Bulls are back in action against Charlotte FC as the stretch run of the 2024 MLS season begins.
RBNY will see Dante Vanzeir and Elias Manoel start against Charlotte’s backline.
Manoel has scored three goals and has tallied one assist against Charlotte FC in his MLS regular season career. This includes scoring the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Charlotte the last time the two teams faced each other at Bank of America Stadium.
Lewis Morgan, Dennis Gjengaar, Daniel Edelman and Ronald Donkor get the nod to start in the midfield.
Morgan has 12 goals and four assists in 21 matches this season. His 12 goals ranks tied for second among active MLS midfielders this season.
Carlos Coronel starts in goal, with John Tolkin, Noah Eile, Sean Nealis and Kyle Duncan lining up ahead of him.
New York returns on a 10-match unbeaten streak -- eight matches in MLS play, while Charlotte are winless in their last four games.
Head Coach Sandro Schwarz will have Cory Burke, Julian Hall, Tanner Rosborough, Cameron Harper, Steven Sserwadda, Dylan Nealis and Aidan O’Connor available off the bench. Ryan Meara will be the backup goalkeeper.
Emil Forsberg, Serge Ngoma, Peter Stroud, Wiki Carmona, Andrés Reyes and Roald Mitchell are all sidelined.
